The Kruzenshternskoye gas field lies on the Yamal Peninsula in northern West Siberia. Around half of the field lies offshore, in the Sharapov Bay within the Kara Sea. The field has not been developed due to the harsh conditions in the region. The field is part of the high profile Bovanenkovo production zone within Gazprom's Yamal Megaproject.
