The Kuatamlonmunai (KAM) JV operates the Konys and Bektas oil fields in central Kazakhstan. The project is 100%-owned by Chinese companies – ZhenHua Oil, CNPC and PetroChina.Oil production peaked at 17,000 b/d in 2013 after a period of significant investment, chiefly on drilling. Both oil output and capital expenditure have since fallen sharply.
