Asset Report
Kuwait Offshore Partitioned Zone
Report summary
The Partitioned Zone (PZ) is a border region between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which was created as an area of neutral sovereignty in 1922. A maritime delimitation of the adjacent offshore area was concluded in 2000. A maritime boundary divides the zone into discrete areas of Kuwait and Saudi Arabian jurisdiction but, as with the onshore section, the petroleum resources are treated as the common property of both states.
