The La Cira and Infantas oil fields are located in the Middle Magdalena basin near the Barrancabermeja refinery. Infantas is the oldest oil field in Colombia, and the fields are one of the largest discoveries in in the country.Oil was produced using the natural drive of the reservoirs until the late-1950s, when an extensive waterflooding programme was implemented.
