Report summary
The Liberty oil field was discovered by BP in 1997 and is located on offshore federal leases in the Foggy Island Bay of the US Beaufort Sea, about 12 kilometres to the southeast of the Endicott field. If developed, Liberty will be the first field to produce hydrocarbons from a reservoir located entirely within federal leases.
