The LLA 23 block is located in Colombia's Llanos basin, the country's most prolific hydrocarbon basin. The Labrador field was the first to be discovered in December 2012 by Canacol Energy, which has since discovered the Leono, Maltes, Pantro, Pointier and Tigro fields. The LLA 23 block is located in the northern part of the Llanos basin of Colombia, 245 kilometres northeast of Bogotá. LLA 23 is adjacent and on trend with the Rancho Hermoso block.
