The Logbaba gas field is in the Douala basin in the eastern suburbs of Cameroon's largest city, Douala. The field was discovered by Elf Serepca in 1954. Victoria Oil & Gas (VOG) became the operator of the Logbaba licence upon acquiring Bramlin in 2008. The field is now operated by Gaz du Cameroun (GDC), a 100% owned subsidiary of VOG. Since 2012, gas has been supplied to local consumers in Douala's industrial area via a 51-kilometre pipeline network for heat generation (thermal gas) or power generation (on-site and local grid power). Condensate is trucked to industrial customers and to the Sonara refinery in Limbe, 70 kilometres away.
