LUKOIL-AIK operates the Kogalymskoye field, which lies in the prolific West Siberian region of Khanty-Mansiisk, 120 kilometres northeast of Surgut. The Kogalymskoye field was discovered in 1972 and brought onstream in 1985. Kogalymskoye sits close to the giant fields of LUKOIL West Siberia: Tevlinsko-Russkinskoye, Vat-Yoganskoye and South Yagunskoye.Production at Kogalymskoye rose gradually after 1985 and produced at a plateau of around 55,000 b/d from 2006 to 2012.
