Report summary
The Maari Area is located around 70 km offshore Taranaki. The oil development consists of two structures - Maari and Manaia. Development of the Maari Area was sanctioned on 21 November 2005. Oil production began in February 2009. The development utilises a wellhead platform and a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with a processing capacity of 40 kb/d. The FPSO was originally leased, however, the joint venture purchased it in March 2013. Development drilling in 2014 and 2015 boosted oil production from around 5 kb/d to 12 kb/d. Production has steadily declined since.
