The once overlooked Clearwater has emerged as an enticing oil play in central Alberta. Despite the challenges that Canadian producers have faced in the last few years, a bright spot in central Alberta has emerged. The Marten Hills Clearwater play where there was essentially zero production prior to 2017, has boomed to nearly 24 kbd over the course of 3 years. This high netback play is gaining traction and will continue to grow as the play expands.
