Report summary
The Matanda Block is located in the Douala Basin, both onshore and offshore. In 1980, the North Matanda gas/condensate field was discovered by Gulf Oil. The field was deemed sub-commercial and was not developed. Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG) became the operator in 2016, through its wholly owned subsidiary Gaz du Cameroun (GDC). The PSC expired in 2018 and following talks with the government, the operator received a licence extension in late 2020, valid until 2021. VOG went into administration ...
