Report summary
The Matanda Block is located in the Douala Basin, both onshore and offshore. In 1980, the North Matanda gas/condensate field was discovered by Gulf Oil. The field was deemed sub-commercial and was not developed. The PSC expired in 2018 and following talks with the government, the operator received a licence extension in late 2020, valid until December 2021.
