Report summary
Development of the McArthur River offshore oil field began in the mid 1960s. The field is located 10 kilometres off the west coast of the Cook Inlet and is one of the largest fields in the region in terms of recoverable reserves. Oil is produced from the Hemlock, Middle Kenai, and West Foreland formations.
