On 5 May 2014 Memorial Production Partners LP (an upstream-focused MLP) announced that it had entered into an agreement with a private company, Merit Energy, to acquire properties located in Sweetwater and Carbon Counties, WY. Memorial Production reported it paid US$935 million for the properties, including two individual tertiary CO2 floods situated across two fields (Lost Soldier and Wertz, also referred to as the Bairoil Complex).
