Eni discovered the giant Zohr offshore gas field which will transform Egypt's upstream sector. Meanwhile, Egypt's Petroleum Ministry has announced settling all arrears until the end of 2016. Oman hit record liquids production in July – over 1 million b/d. Kuwait plans to expand its gas production capacity and Saudi Arabia has sanctioned its first unconventional gas project. Elsewhere, more exploration disappointment in Morocco and export payments to IOCs in Kurdistan to start-up.
