Report summary
The OMV operated Mona/Durra licence area is located in the Ghadames Basin in southern Tunisia, east of El Borma. The licence area was originally part of the Anaguid Block but the development area was carved out in 2010. Anadarko made two gas condensate discoveries, Samet El Anaguid and Chaabet El Mercanti, in 1998 and 2003 before selling its interest in the block in July 2007. Pioneer Natural Resources became operator of the block and made two Silurian Acacus oil discoveries, Mona and Durra. The oil discoveries were brought onstream in 2011, with production trucked to the neighbouring Cherouq concession facilities for processing. We assume that the tight gas fields will be developed after the completion of the Nawara project.
