The Moulavi Bazar development area is located in Bangladesh's oldest gas-producing region, in the northeastern part of the country, and lies within the former block 14 area.The field was brought onstream in March 2005 and produced around 110 mmcfd during 2006. Following the commissioning of the Bibiyana field in March 2007, production was curtailed due to limitations in the pipeline network.
