Mozambique is Sub-Saharan Africa's second largest remaining resource holder. Natural gas, over 130 tcf, accounts for 98% of discovered resources. The offshore Rovuma basin contains 125 tcf, which remains largely undeveloped. TotalEnergies' Area 1 licence holds 60 tcf. Exxon Mobil and Eni's Area 4 licence holds the remaining 65 tcf.Mozambique has been exporting its gas since 2004.
