Myanmar's hydrocarbon industry has historically been dominated by onshore oil production, managed by the state-owned Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE). However, since the start-up of the Yadana field in 1998 and Yetagun in 2000, gas now accounts for more than 90% of total production, of which over 80% is exported to Thailand.
