New project sanctions jump in 2017: Q2 pre-FID upstream project tracker
Report summary
In 2016 we saw 12 major projects reach sanction. We're not yet halfway through 2017, and we've already passed that number, with 13 FIDs on the board. Together, it equals over seven billion boe sanctioned so far, versus nearly nine billion boe for the whole of 2016. We remain well on the way to our January forecast of 20-25 major FIDs during the year.
