Report summary
The Offshore North West Java (ONWJ), also known as North West Java Sea PSC, is a mature complex of oil and gas fields located off the coast of west Java. ONWJ is one of Indonesia's largest offshore oil developments with over 1.5 billion barrels produced since 1971. The ONWJ contract area is divided into four main field groups: North West Corner, Ardjuna, Bima, and Arimbi. PERTAMINA Hulu Energi (PHE) assumed operatorship of the area in 2009 and subsequently embarked upon a series of extensive infill drilling programmes, workovers, and new platform developments to increase production. In January 2017, the PSC was renewed for another 20 years, with PHE appointed as the sole participant in the renewed block.
