OML 103 is a large block in the inter-tidal zone of the northwest Niger Delta. The block contains two discoveries: Bella and Ebisan. In 1990, ConOil was awarded the acreage under Nigeria's indigenous programme. The licence was converted to Oil Mining Lease (OML) 103 following the discovery of the Bella field in 1992 and production started in 1995. Crude is exported via the Chevron-operated Escravos terminal. These fields are taxed under the more generous indigenous concession terms.
