Oil Mining Licence (OML) 132 is in the western Niger Delta, approximately 113 kilometres offshore. In 2003, ChevronTexaco discovered the Aparo field close to the Bonga Southwest (Bonga SW) discovery on the adjacent OML 118. The Aparo appraisal well encountered substantial net oil pay and indicated that Aparo and Bonga SW are one continuous structure.
