Report summary

OML 72 is a large shallow water block in the southeast Niger Delta. Known as the 'K block' because of the type of faulting prevalent it contains the Kalaekule oil field which started production in 1986. Production ceased in 2002 following a dramatic decline and a sudden increase in water cut.
