Report summaryOML 72 is a large shallow water block in the southeast Niger Delta. Known as the 'K-block', because of the type of faulting prevalent, it contains the Kalaekule oil field which started production in 1986. Production ceased in 2002 following a dramatic decline and a sudden increase in water cut.
