OMV operates the largest upstream portfolio in Austria – centred on the Vienna and Molasse basins. Its oil and gas fields are mostly mature, with some having produced since the 1930s. Managing decline via enhanced recovery techniques is an ongoing priority.In 2023, reported production was around 17,000 boe/d – split almost evenly between gas and liquids (oil and LPG).
