Report summary
OPL 286-DO is located in the offshore Niger Delta, about 250 kilometres southeast of Lagos. It lies to the southeast of the Bonga fields on OML 118 where over two billion barrels of oil have been discovered. The block was awarded to a BG-led consortium in the 2006 licensing round. It contained the small Boi field that was discovered by Statoil in 1996. BG drilled two wells on the block: in 2008 Ogide-1 encountered oil shows, while a 2009 appraisal well on Boi also resulted in oil shows. ...
