Asset Report
Pearl GTL
Report summary
Pearl is the world's largest gas-to-liquids (GTL) project. The fully integrated development is served by a dedicated sector of Qatar's giant North Field. Development wells, offshore wellhead production platforms, pipelines, onshore gas processing facilities, GTL production trains, storage and export facilities are all included in the project's scope. The production facilities have a design capacity of 1.6 bcfd of wellhead sour gas to produce 120,000 b/d of NGLs (condensate, LPGs and ethane) and approximately 1.3 bcfd of feed gas for the GTL plant. The GTL plant comprises 2 x 70,000 b/d trains and is capable of producing a range of liquid hydrocarbon products, including naphtha, kerosene, normal paraffins, gas oil and base oils. Train 1 was brought onstream in March 2011 and the first cargo of GTL gas oil shipped in June 2011. Train 2 started production in November 2011.
