Report summary
PNG LNG is an ExxonMobil-operated two-train development that produces around 8.6 mmtpa of LNG. Feedgas is sourced from several fields in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. The liquefaction facility is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Papua, approximately 20 kilometres north of Port Moresby, in Caution Bay. The first LNG cargo departed on 26 May 2014. The project's foundation feedgas is supplied by fields developed via the Hides Gas Conditioning Plant (HGCP), Kutubu Central Processing Facility (CPF), and Gobe Production Facility (GPF). Dry gas is exported to the LNG plant via a ~700 kilometre pipeline, which runs parallel to the existing oil pipeline to the coast and then crosses the Gulf of Papua to the LNG plant. Condensate is removed from the gas stream during initial processing and is exported as part of the Kutubu Blend through the Kumul Marine Terminal in the Gulf of Papua.
