The Puguang gas complex, including Puguang, Dawan and Maoba gas fields, is located in the northeastern Sichuan Basin close to Chevron's Chuangdongbei sour gas project. The complex is one of the main sources for the Sichuan-East China gas pipeline. The main reservoir, Feixianguan marine carbonate, is buried over 5,700 metres and characterised by high-pressure and high-temperature. The produced gas contains a high level of hydrogen sulphide (H2S).
