Report summary

The Rokan PSC contains around 100 producing fields, including the super-giant Minas and Duri oil fields, which are among the largest in Southeast Asia. The other main oil fields include Bangko, Bekasap, Balam South, Kotabatak, Petani, Pematang, Petapahan, and Pager. Operated by the national oil company PERTAMINA since August 2021, Rokan's oil fields were initially developed by Chevron under the subsidiary Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI). Excluding other fields, the combined original oil in place (OOIP) for the super-giant Minas and Duri fields is around 14.6 billion barrels. The Duri field produces by steamflood, Minas by waterflood, and other fields by a mix of primary and waterflood recovery. With production in natural decline, additional recovery from the Rokan fields is contingent on the success of the long ongoing, and new Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects.
