Report summary
Safaniyah is located off Saudi Arabia's east coast in the shallow waters of the northern Persian Gulf. It is a giant anticline, around 70 kilometres in length that projects outwards from the Ras al Safaniyah peninsula. The northern dome on the anticline extends into the Partitioned Zone shared with Kuwait, where it is known as Khafji. The field contains multiple stacked reservoirs of which the most prolific are within the Middle Cretaceous Wasia formation (Safaniyah and Khafji units). ...
