Sauts Oil a private Kazakh E&P company operates several oil fields in the South Turgai basin. Aggregate crude output reached about 20 000 b/d in 2014 15 underpinned by Kenlik and Southwest Karabulak. The latter is one of six fields discovered since 2006. The fields lie close to the Kazakhstan China Oil Pipeline and most oil is now exported east.
