Shaikan
Report summary
Shaikan is a heavy oil field located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), 60 kilometres north of the regional capital, Erbil. It is one of the largest fields in Kurdistan with oil-in-place estimated at 4.2 billion barrels. Oil and gas has been discovered in Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic reservoirs.
