Report summary

The Shams Contract Area located in northwest Oman, approximately 250 kilometres west of Muscat, was awarded to Thailand's national oil company PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) in July 2002. The Shams gas and condensate field, originally discovered in 1978, was brought onstream in 2007. The Munhamir oil field was discovered in 2005 and began producing in 2012.
