Wadi Aswad Contract Area (Block 27)
Report summary
Block 27 (Wadi Aswad) is located adjacent to Occidental's Block 9 operations and to the north of PDO's vast Block 6 concession. It contains over 20 small oil and gas discoveries. The Khamilah oil discovery was declared commercial in October 2005, and production was brought onstream in June 2006. Numerous additional small discoveries have been made, often through near-field exploration, many of which are now onstream.
