Sole
Report summary
The Sole gas field is located 45 kilometres from the Victorian coast. The field was discovered by Shell in 1973 and is the easternmost discovery in the Gippsland Basin. In December 2014, Cooper Energy agreed to acquire a 50% interest in Sole (VIC/RL 3) and the Orbost Gas Plant from Santos. The initial development plan includes a single subsea development well, tied back by a 65 kilometre pipeline to the existing Orbost Gas Plant.
