South Arne is a large oil field, located in the eastern part of the Danish offshore sector. The field has geologically complex, fractured Upper Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) and Paleocene (Danian) chalk reservoirs.The field has been developed in phases using a concrete gravity-based structure (GBS) platform, with a steel drilling tower and full processing facilities.Phase I involved first production from the northern flank of the field in 1999.
