The South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) transports gas from Azerbaijan's giant Shah Deniz field to Turkey's eastern border, via Georgia. It was launched in 2006 and has recently been expanded. Shah Deniz is currently the only field to use the SCP. In 2017, throughput was 724 mmcfd.A major US$4.8 billion (2018 terms) expansion, known as SCPX, was commissioned in 2018.
