The South October Block lies in the Gulf of Suez, north of Eni's giant Belayim Marine field. Dana Petroleum operates the licence with a 65% interest and is partnered by INPEX Corporation which holds a 35% interest. The Nefertiti Field was discovered in 2010 via a deviated exploration well drilled from an onshore location. Production began in Q4 2014 through a deviated onshore well. A six kilometre multiphase pipeline was constructed to tie-in production to Eni's Belayim facilities for treatment and export.
