South Pars is a super-giant gas field located in the Persian Gulf. Iran shares the field with Qatar, where it is known as the North Field. It is the world's single largest gas accumulation with around 2,000 tcf of recoverable gas resources.Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), is developing South Pars in 24 phases - each a discrete area.
