South Pars is the eastern half of the super giant field which is known as the North Field in Qatar. It is located in the Persian Gulf between Iran and Qatar and is considered the world's single largest gas accumulation. South Pars is being developed in 24 phases. Phases 4 and 5 were developed by ENI under an Iranian buy-back contract.
