Southwestern Energy is an independent energy company engaged in exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas. The company's largest asset is the Fayetteville Shale Play, in the Arkansas portion of the Arkoma basin. As an early entrant and leading developer in the play, it has benefited from low entry costs and a massive acreage position in the play's core counties.
