Spain has set an end date for oil and gas activities - In 2021, the Spanish government introduced the Climate Change and Energy Transition Law 7/2021. Under this legislation, bans were placed on the issuance of new exploration licences, the extension of existing licences beyond 2042, and hydraulic fracking.
