Sulige is China's largest tight gas field so far, covering 7,600 km2. Development in the first few years by PetroChina Changqing Oilfield subsidiary was constrained by poor economics. Joint development since 2006 by the subsidiary, along with five other PetroChina's subsidiaries, significantly drove down drilling costs and improved economics. Gas is mostly transported to Beijing via the Jingbian - Beijing pipelines.
