Surgil is a large gas field in northern Uzbekistan that was discovered by state-owned Uzbekneftegaz (UNG) in 2002. The field was brought onstream in late 2007, supplying gas to the Bukhara-Urals export pipeline.In May 2008, a Korean consortium joined with UNG to establish the Uz-Kor Gas Chemical JV.
