Report summary

Surgil is a large gas field in northern Uzbekistan that was discovered by state owned Uzbekneftegaz in 2002. The field was brought onstream in late 2007 supplying gas to the Bukhara Urals export pipeline.In May 2008 a Korean consortium joined with Uzbekneftegaz (UNG) to establish the Uz Kor Gas Chemical joint venture.
