The Syncrude Project is located in the Athabasca oil sands deposit in northeastern Alberta. Syncrude is a leading oil sands operation in terms of reserves and covers eight Athabasca oil sands leases. In 2019, Syncrude hit a milestone - three billion barrels of production. Syncrude currently accounts for approximately 6% of Canada's total oil production.
