Taq Taq is an oil field located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, around 55 kilometres to the northeast of Kirkuk. The field produces a light crude from Cretaceous reservoirs and a heavy crude from the Pila Spi. A PSA was awarded to Genel Enerji, later Genel Energy, in 2002 and Addax joined in 2005. Production started, under a PSA, in 2008 and ramped-up to a daily peak of over 142,000 b/d in Q1 2015. However, a recent downgrade to reserves means that the full capacity, of 150,000 b/d, will not be used. The field is directly connected to the Kurdistan Export pipeline.
