Report summary

The Tarakan PSC allows the operator to explore beneath the known reservoirs of the Kalimantan TAC and other areas on Tarakan Island, offshore East Kalimantan. Initial oil production in 1989 was followed by first gas production in 1997. The main producing field, Mamburungan, is in decline and continued development drilling or workovers will be required to maintain production until PSC expiry in 2022. The PSC is expected to continue supply gas for local power generation until 2019.
