Termokarstovoye is being developed by Terneftegaz, a JV between NOVATEK (51%) and Total (49%). It is a remote gas-condensate field that lies 220 kilometres east of Tarko-Sale in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It was discovered in 1988 and remained undeveloped until 2011, while NOVATEK focused investment on developing its low-cost gas assets in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region.
