Research Presentation
The Forties Pipeline shutdown reduces UK liquids production by 40%: what are the wider implications?
Report summary
On 11 December 2017 the newly INEOS operated Forties Pipeline system (FPS) was temporarily shut down for repairs. A hairline fracture was discovered in an onshore section of the pipeline near Aberdeen. Remedial work is expected to take several weeks to be completed. This shut down is material as the FPS is the largest oil export pipeline in the UK servicing around 40% of liquids production in the region.
