The Thistle and Deveron fields are located in the Northern North Sea, 22-kilometres north of the Brent field. Deveron was discovered in 1972 while Thistle was discovered in 1973. Both fields were developed from the Thistle 'Alpha' fixed steel platform. In October 2019, the fields were shut-in due to concerns with the structural integrity of the Thistle 'Alpha'. In March 2020, EnQuest announced that it was unlikely that Thistle and Deveron would restart and in September 2020 it formally announced cessation of production (COP). Well P&A was completed in 2025 and we assume decommissioning, including removal of the topsides and upper jacket, will be complete in 2029.
